Whether you are a cruiser or a racing enthusiast good hull and keel preparation is essential to achieve the maximum performance from your boat and to protect it for the season ahead.

Formation Marine GRP understands this more than anyone as every season we prepare and antifoul the hull for FORZA, a J92, skippered by Andy Dennis and raced in the Helford River.

We can provide the complete underwater race preparation service providing that invisible advantage to those racers who need to concentrate on season planning than boat preparation. We are experienced in using a variety of antifouling products from self-eroding to hard racing.

Fairing & Antifouling Services

  1. Fairing in protrusions such as heads. By creating a hydrodynamic entrance and exit in areas such as this it is possible to reduce drag and increase the efficiency of the underwater area.
  2. Reform areas such as the keel and bulb for faster boat speed. To the customer’s specification, the surface can be profiled using a template from one side and for this profile to be reproduced on the other, thus perfecting the symmetry of the keel and bulb and enhancing performance.

  1. Repair antifoul surface if stripping is not required. If all you want is to get rid of those surveyor peels and improve the underwater finish we can simply work on the existing one by skimming and sanding. This need not be a long process and can be more economic.
  2. Complete strip, refinish, re-prime and antifoul.
