GENERAL GRP BOAT REPAIRS

We offer a flexible and personal service for all GRP repairs.  We are able to provide fast and efficient repairs, minimising any disruption to your racing or cruising calendar.  Our mobile repair service allows us to work afloat or ashore.

We can use our extensive moulding experience to make repairs to your boat from other boats of the same manufacture in your area.  With permission from an agreeable boat owner it is possible to replicate a damaged form from another boat and transpose it to your own.

BESPOKE MOULDING AND LAMINATION

We can provide a complete bespoke moulding and lamination service to anyone interested in producing GRP products in short to medium runs, i.e between 1-200.  Clients who provide mastered products can expect a professional and reliable service, taking their master through moulding lamination and finishing.  Products can be finished to exact specifications set out by the client and could include:-

- Polished gel coat finish

- Gel coat with metal or stone composite

- Paint finish

- Raw

RACE PREPARATION/FAIRING AND ANTIFOULING

Whether you are a cruiser or a racing enthusiast, good hull and keel preparation is essential to achieve the maximum performance from your boat and to protect it for the season ahead.

We can provide the complete underwater race preparation service, providing that invisible advantage to those racers who need to concentrate on season planning than boat preparation.  We are experienced in using a variety of antifouling products, from self-eroding, hard racing to complete Coppercoat application.

GEL COAT REPAIR/COLOUR MATCHING

Maintaining the gel coat of your vessel is of utmost importance if you wish to avoid the expense and heartache of water damage such as osmosis.  Older gel coats absorb water to a higher degree than newer ones.  Small areas of damage from things such as pontoons, mooring chains or fenders can expose your boat to these problems. Small fractures, cracks and chips can be repaired quite simply if dealt with quickly.

With our wide range of gel pigments, we can blend gel coat surfaces, new or old, usually making the repair completely disappear.  â€‹Boat hulls change with age, so just using a colour supplied by the boat manufacturer is not normally enough to match correctly.  We have the experience of colour matching pigments, including whites, to enable the best chance of making the repair disappear.

HULL REFURBISHMENT AND POLISHING SERVICE

If the gelcoat on your vessel is looking tired, we can provide a complete polishing service.  A build up of waterline scratches and fender wear encourages discolouration and dullness.  In addition to our polishing service, we can renovate these affected areas.   Using a combined process of filling and cutting, the gel surface can be restored.  Working this area before polishing will really make a difference to the effectiveness and performance of the polish.  If you want to avoid repeated topside/waterline scrubs in the marina (when you should be sailing the Cornish coast!) this service could make all the difference to you.
